Thursday May 20

Tuesday, May 11, Shannon & Richard from the Great Harbour N37 Esmeralda stopped by. This is their first time in The Abacos. We all went to dinner at Dock & Dine then walked around Man O War.

Janet arrived last Thursday. Paul & I took Odyssey to Marsh Harbour. We had to leave early morning since that was when high tide was. We anchored in Marsh Harbour. We did some grocery shopping and had Pop's chicken for lunch.
Janet got in a little after 5. We had planned to pull Odyssey along side the public dock but both sides were full so Paul pulled her across the end of the dock. Janet had a big step onto the boat. Someone standing on the dock yelled that something fell in the water-- Oh NO it was her blackberry phone.
We had planned to head to Tahiti Beach to anchor but we needed Internet so Janet could call Ken to cancel her service. We came back to Pappy's Land.
Friday morning we were off to Sea Spray.
We took the dinghy to Tahiti Beach. It was a great low tide. Janet & I shelled for several hours -good shelling. Lots of live sand dollars and we only found 1 dead one. We left the live ones. We did find a nice variety of shells.
We went to Abaco Inn for a good dinner. We came back to Sea Spray and went to the bar to listen to the band.
Saturday Janet & I went to run.
We got a golf cart. We went to Hopetown Harbour Lodge beachside for lunch then Janet and I did Hopetown. We stopped at the Sugar Shack for ice cream on the way back to the boat.
We came home and I baked my birthday cake while Janet spent the afternoon at the pool. Shannon & Richard stopped by.
Janet took us to Hopetown Harbour Lodge for my birthday dinner. Great dinner.
Sunday Janet & I took the golf cart to Tahiti Beach --mid tide not much beach.
We left Sea spray just before noon and headed to Guana Cay.
We went to Nippers for the pig roast and some nice beach time.
We decided to come back to Pappy's Land for the night and Monday.
Monday morning we walked the town and did the shops. Monday afternoon Paul dropped us off down close to the Narrows and Janet & I shelled back to where Paul could pick us up again --about half a mile. We saw so many Sand dollars and sea biscuits. We had to be so careful not to step on all the live sand dollars. We got almost 30 sand dollars and about 40 sea biscuits (all dead). We got a few sea urchins also. Janet said she had never found so many sand dollars and sea biscuits.
We came back home for a wonderful steak dinner Paul cooked on the grill.
Tuesday we left late morning to go to Marsh Harbour. We anchored in the Harbour. We had lunch at Walleys then did some shopping. We picked up some Lobster at the fish house.
We had lobster for dinner and sadly got Janet all packed up.
Wednesday morning Paul took Janet in the dinghy to the Conch Inn to meet her taxi at 6:30 AM. I hated to see her go. I had such a wonderful week.
She called last night and had had an uneventful trip home.
Paul & I came back to Man O War late morning.
Today we went snorkeling. The water temperature is perfect. There has not been much wind lately so the water is so clear. We saw so many different fish. I wish we had taken Janet. She might have enjoyed it.
Paul and I are starting our wind down. We have to leave our wonderful home here on Dickeys Cay in about a month. Our Insurance wants us north of Florida by July 1.I think they have a sign posted at the Florida Georgia border telling hurricanes they can not go north of there yeah right. Anyhow we plan to be in Georgia by July 1.
All for now --pictures later.
