The young "pirates" put on a show
Our neighbor on the boat next to us at the Marina entered the "beginners" conch cracking contest and he won. He did a good job!
Willis always wins the "expert"conch cracking contest. The experts have to crack and clean the conch. He won last year and the same young man came back to challenge him again. It looked bad for Willis when the mallet he was using broke soon after the start but he prevailed with ease. He actually teased the young man by taking time to "trim" up the conch he had cleaned.--He makes it look so easy.
Our friends Teresa ( Joe Pica's sister) and Neal came down from Foxtown for the festival. We had lunch at the Wrecking Tree
