Sunday March 22

Friday morning Paul & I went "out for dinner" that means we took the dinghy out for Paul to dive for lobster that we brought home to fix for dinner that night.
Sat we had dinner on John Henry with Wink, Wilma, Fred & Judy and of course Sara. Above is Sara after her bath.
Today we got the Charterers off then came home to watch the NASCAR race

This is the apron I made at S & B. I folded down the top to fit it all in the picture.

Thursday March 19

This has been a very busy week but I want to try to keep up. This picture is Paul "helping" me blow the conch horn.
Monday I went to S & B. I took some of my beads and helped several ladies make eye glass holders. Everybody had on their aprons. I am so proud of mine. I will take a picture and post it.
Monday evening we had Judy & Fred (Amarse) for dinner. They are planning to leave soon and we wanted to be sure to share another meal together with our good friends.
Tuesday was a busy day getting ready for the St Patricks Day party. We had to move it from dock 7 to the tent because of the threat of rain-- good thing we did. We had about 80 people and lots and lots of great food. The rain did hit just as we were finishing dinner. Many people stayed for an evening of fun, dancing and singing Irish songs. A group on "first timers to Boat Harbour" sang a cute ditty.
Wednesday was another busy day. I went to Ladies lunch then to visit friends Susan & John Hague who stopped here in Marsh Harbour on their way north from what sounded like a great trip to several islands south of Abaco.
Susan (Susan's Cove) is going to the states tomorrow for a couple of weeks and since her birthday is tomorrow we had her over for dinner-- well just pizza and salad but I thought it was a good dinner. Judy ( Amarse) baked a cake for Susan and brought it over. Fred, Paul, Judy, Susan & I had a small celebration of Susan's birthday.
Today we woke to rain that started sometime during the night. It continued all day.
Roger & Jeanie Young were suppose to bring their boat over from Man O War. Their son Andy and daughter-in-law Stacy are leaving today and we were all going to have lunch at Wally's but because of the rain they took the ferry and did not have enough time for Andy & Stacy to join the four of us for lunch -- but we did have a nice lunch.
Things finally calmed down a little this evening and I FINALLY got my tax "stuff" emailed off to our tax accountant. Now it is just waiting and hoping the news isn't too bad.
Our charter people are coming in tomorrow. So we will have a busy week end.
Fred posted some fabulous Junkanoo pictures. I will post some of them when I get some time.

Sunday March 15

Wow I have really slipped behind but I have been so busy. I am just going to give the highlights.
This evening we saw a spectacular shuttle launch. It was great to see. Last week there was a rocket launch and we had a good view of it. Tonight's launch was at 7:43 so many people were out to see it. Last week the rocket launch was not until nearly 10 PM so many boaters were already in bed -- tonight's was so much more spectacular.
Last night was the Pathfinders Auction for scholarships for young people here in Abaco. I didn't buy anything this year but it was fun to visit with a lot of friends. Some of our friends from Man O War were there. I told them we would be over there in about 2 weeks.
I started working on my taxes, I know Jerry you like to have them by March 1 and I am behind but I am working on them.
Friday we had a Beadkiving, I guess you call it experience. It was a group of women telling experiences of their boating life then share a bead with the other women depicting their experience. At the end we each took the beads we had collected and made something out of it. I made a necklace that is now very special to me.
Last Wednesday Paul and I went with Susan (Susan's Cove) and her friend Bob in Susan's car to Little Harbour, Pete's Pub and Cherokee. I took some pictures of Paul & Susan walking in the longest bridge in the Bahamas. It is 770 feet long. We stopped at a vegetable farm that I did not know existed. Bob bought some vegetables. We also rode through a new development of Bahamas government sponsored houses being built in Spring City. It was very interesting. They are very nice houses.
Last Tuesday was our BIG Pirates party with the Yacht Club. Wilma found a dress Sherry had loaned to her but she was not going to wear it so I wore it. I will post pictures when I get some from Fred. I made some "special" jewelry to wear. Judy (Amarse) had picked up some skull beads in Peru last summer and shared them with some of us.
Last Monday at Stitch & Bitch I finished my special apron -- although I may take it back tomorrow to add a title to the top of it. When I get that on it I will take a picture and post it. I think it looks very nice.
Our first charter was out week before last. They had lousy weather but still seemed to have a good time. We had them for dinner the night they came back in. Tony & Nancy were nice people and we hope to meet up with them again.
More boats are leaving every week -- it is that time of year. We hope many of them come back next year -- we hope we can make it again next year. We have had some sad happy hours to to wish them happy cruising and a good trip back to the states.

Tuesday March 3

I just received these pictures today so I am adding them to my post.
The one of Paul was when he helped a friend clean his "bottom".
Some of our friends are starting to leave Boat Harbour. I don't like this time of year. It is like losing part of your family BUT the good part is most of them will be back next year. Fred & Sherry, Chipka Fire and Tom & Linda,Tomlin Too left today.
I did get back to my running today.
More than a dozen "ladies" went to Susan Harward's to make jewelry today.
This evening we had a happy hour/slash rehearsal for our Dock 4 song for the Pirates Party next week. I am still working on my costume for it.

Monday March 2

Pictures from the talent show at the resort. Paul did not come to "support" me in my BIG debut as Sue Ellen McCoy McCoy McCoy, twice divorced, member of the McCoys from West By God Virginny. I made special jewelry for the show, a 5 inch bolt on a dog chain
and earrings made with 2 different size nuts. Paul was very concerned about getting his stainless steel back. The pink curler holding my hibiscus is not seen well. Thankfully the 2 blackened teeth and freckles washed off easily.
Our song was Good Old Mountain Dew.

I can't believe it has been a whole week since I posted but it has been such a busy week.
Last Tuesday I went to Orinoco for a jewelry making session. We are going to try to have this as a regular Tuesday afternoon "thing".
Wednesday I had a RMHYC board meeting. I am the Social Chairman. I have already been working hard getting the socials for the rest of this year organized and getting the chairman for next years socials lined up.

Mirage showed up on Wednesday with the N37 and N47 that will be in charter here for the next 5 months. Paul & I are doing the turn arounds. George Sass was with them. He is writing an article for the May issue of Motor Boating. We are going to be featured in the article. George did an interview with us and took some pictures.
He also interviewed Wink & Wilma who will be featured along with us.
I went to LoQueSeA for a rehersal for "our song" for the talent show at the resort tomorrow night.
Ken Fickett, Owner of Mirage took all of us to The Jib Room for rib night. There were 11 of us.
I spent most of Thursday going through a couple thousand pictures trying to pick out a few for George to use in his article. It was fun looking back at old pictures -- I cannot believe how much Paul & I have "aged" in the 6+ years we have been on the boat. I thought all that slowed down when we moved on the boat.
I cannot understand why Paul did not want to go to the talent show to watch me "sing". The pictures are at the beginning of this post.
Paul & I went to Walley's for lunch with Roger & Jeanie Young. Roger got back from Washington last week.
Ken and his crew left on Friday. Eric Kraft, the head of sales at Mirage, and his wife Cinda are staying on Spoonbill, the brand new N47, for another week.
Paul & I started our clean up on Semper Fi. We came home a little after 5 to attend a happy hour on dock 3. We went back to the Conch Inn Marina after supper to work a little longer on Semper Fi.
We got up Saturday morning to go finish getting Semper Fi ready for the first charter. Tony and Nancy Adams from Missouri are coming in this afternoon. Usually charters don't start until Sunday.
Paul & were both tired when we got home Saturday night.
We were up early Sunday then off to Semper Fi to do the official check in. A cold front is predicted to come through the Abacos today but the wind picked up early. After talking with Tony & Nancy I called Sea Spray to make reservations for them for a couple of days. They said their trip over was a little bumpy and a little dicey docking but OK. We talked to them shortly after they got to Sea Spray and have not heard from them since. We will try to call them tomorrow.
Today I went to Stitch & Bitch. I worked some more on my apron. I should be able to finish it next week.
Guess that about catches us up.
