Sunday July 5

Back to last week --
Tuesday I checked us out of Reynolds Park Marina so we are ready to leave early Wed morning.
Paul & I walked to the Elks Club (1 1/2 miles) in the heat and humidity.
Paul had his "interview" for the Elks. I walked another half mile to D Fontana's to get some garlic bits. Paul & I walked back to the marina.
We pushed off the dock a little after 7 -- after Paul tried to hose off some of the million blind mosquito's from our boat and John Henry.
We caught the tide just right from Jacksonville on. We were averaging over 11 mph going up the St John's river.
We had planned to anchor at Cumberland Island but we got to Cumberland Island a little after 5 and knew we could make it into Brunswick before dark and have air conditioning without running the generator. We do not like to run the generator all night at anchor. The heat index with the humidity here is much worse than the Bahamas.
The marina was closed when we got there so we just pulled up to a T head to unload the scooter. When we checked in on Thursday we found our slip was a port tie we washed the starboard side of the boat before we moved. We both worked for over 2 hours trying to get some of the Blind mosquito droppings off the boat.
There are a lot of Great Harbours here.
Thursday I went to the Farmers Market. I missed that place. We went to Fox's Pizza for dinner -- I missed that place also.
Friday after talking to Fred, Amarse, I booked a trip on Spirit Airlines to Costa Rica for Paul, Susan Harward and me. We go Sept 11-25. Our base price for the trip was less than $8 -- ended up almost $400 total but that is still cheap for 3 people.
We had dinner on Sea Island Girl for Robert's birthday. Dave & Barbara Bluto and Henry also joined us.
Saturday I went for a run -- my first since Man O War. It was really hot but I ran 3 miles.
Pokey, Tim & Becky, came in.
The marina had a T-bone steak dinner in the afternoon. We all took a covered dish. I did not like the smoked steak -- it tasted too much like smoke -- I could not taste the meat.
They were fireworks in the evening-- sort of anticlimactic after the fabulous ones at West Palm last week. I watched them in between the NASCAR race.
Sunday we went to CatFish Charlies at Two Way Fish Camp with Jerry & Theresa, Shalala, and Neil, Silver Queen.
Jerry & Theresa are flying to New Hampshire tomorrow. We are taking them to Jacksonville airport then we will have their car until they come back.
