The end of our time in Brunswick

We have been in Brunswick,GA for 2 1/2 months. Time really flies -- maybe I am just getting old.
We really lucked out on the hurricanes this summer. After Fay, Hannah went right past us but off the coast far enough that we had a light misty rain for about 2 hours and no wind. For a while it looked like she was headed right for us. Paul bought some new lines and we had lots of extras out. We tied down or brought inside everything that we thought might move. We rented a car and were prepared to evacuate but didn't need a thing -- it was better to be prepared than caught unprepared.
We sure kept our eyes on Ike. At first it looked as though he could come right up the east coast. I feel sorry for the people in Texas and even Ohio got some of that.
Our friends Fred & Judy went to Peru for a month and are back now. Boy I hate leaving them. We have had such a good time with them but we will be back together again in the Bahamas. Judy has outdone me in Jewelry. We both bought LOTS of new and beautiful beads. Judy has really taken to it.
Paul got his Master Captain's license. When we read the brochure it said 7 days and about $500. It turned out to take almost a month and about $2000. I guess we should have know dealing with the government. I can't believe how everybody had there hands out for more money. He was fingerprinted 3 times, had a drug screen, physical, CPR, First aid, and had to get a TWIC card. Then he went through all our logs to document his hours.
Our new carpeting is going to be installed tomorrow.
We are planning to leave here on Saturday and arrive in Green Cove Springs,FL on Sunday in time for me to watch the NASCAR race on ABC. We don't get local channels on our satellite TV until we are farther south and also in the Bahamas. We can watch the Nationwide race on the way down on Saturday because it is on ESPN.
I am leaving Wednesday (24) for Solomons MD to help with the Bahamas Charters booth.
We plan to be in Green Cove until late October then head for the Bahamas.
Our good friends Wink & Wilma (John Henry) are in Green Cove and are planning to go with us to the Bahamas.
I have been running every morning and really enjoying it -- except I have a little trouble getting up early enough to beat the heat.
I guess that's all for now.
